I'd give this place a 3.5 stars if I could.
If you're looking for tasty food and a variety, which also provides good service to your table - especially on a road trip through the Lanark Highlands, here's another great spot to chillax. They do have a bar, but we've been here only for the restaurant. They offer specials, but anything you get is good. They make great breakfasts and lunches.
The tables are sort of caffeteria style (square, white melamine), and the chairs are wooden - so no high points for decor, but there is a section in the back with bigger, wooden tables. There's a patio out front with picnic tables, so you can have a beer outsite, weather permitting.
Friends of ours had heard that this restaurant cooked up a great schnitzel, and drove all the way out from Ottawa with one set of paretns in tow, to try it out! They were not disappointed.
I would go back; it would especially be nice to do so in the fall to take in the changing colours. There are lots of places in the Lanark Highlands to help make this an enjoyable field trip. -

What can I say, well not much. We stopped in for lunch while driving through the village, seated ourselves in the center of the back dining room. Waited. All 3 servers busily clearing tables and serving patrons around us. Waited. Decide to go to the menu holder and get some menus as we are quite hungry. Waited. All 3 servers spent our remaining time chatting at the counter with each other completely avoiding eye contact with us. Waited. 5 minutes passed and we went across the street to have a delicious pizza from Lanark pizzeria. I'll give it 1 star because the restroom was clean. When you see the sign, just keep driving.
